Overview:

BetterUp is a B2B coaching service, curated coaching marketplace, which recently decided to expand its business operation to serve direct customers. Members who use the program tend to have a profession al coach for 6-12 months. In this time, they can experience miraculous behavioral transformation. While members knew they were setting goals with their coach and making progress, there was no way for them to see this in the app or actually record their progress.

Problem:

Members who used the coaching platform were unsure they were making significant progress and could not visualize their journey ahead.

Solution:

Develop a goals dashboard that allows for the member to see their progress and insights, set, record, and track their progress, and have direct communication with their coach who can help visualize their journey and future selves. The MVE of this project became a success itself. By releasing just an email with novel insights and metrics of the members’ progress, we proved the value of insights and progress tracking and hit OKR’s pertaining to member-coach engagement, session increases, retention, lower adverse events, and above all, member satisfaction. We learned that by reminding members of their hard work, they had better outcomes (survey-tested) in a shorter amount of time. Monthly progress tracker email launched driving engagement with 45% open rate and 7.1% CTR. Goal is to boost members' perceived value from coaching, increase their comfort in sharing data with us, and create new data flywheels that unlock new product experiences.

Role:

I was the sole designer from end-to-end including research and feature audit, contributing to the requirements (PRD), leading brainstorming workshops for the squad and cross-functionally. I partnered with my Product Manager, Engineering Manager, 3 machine learning engineers, and one front-end engineer.
